now i have done the bonus for this mission on hm but haven't been able to do the mission due to rurik tar charging in and killing him self after he makes it rain (cut seen 2) i am playing as a rit and i have heroes is there a viable way to do this with heroes and a rit primary? i have searched for nolani academy and found nothing also if this isnt the place sorry.

Just gang up on Rurik and kill anything that comes close to him.
I just did it today in HM (1 helear hero 2 nukers heros and me W/R (axe splinter))

After that cutscene, run all the way to your right. Don't follow Rurik, and keep running that way. Then attack all those Charr from the back with careful pulling, kill the elemental boss at the top, and you're done. Stick to your right, and only kill the groups at the right side of the road. Try it on NM to see what I'm talking about; to speed stuff in NM, just open the gates at the beginning and fight off the Charr.

Just ignore Rurik and run to the right. Head straight for the boss kill him and done. I have completed it several times this way and Rurik doesnt even take damage as long as you move away form him quickly.

I've never had problems with him, he doesn't run ahead unless you are really slow...

you meant to say after the first cut seen because after the cutseen i talked about there is no where for you to run. thanks all for the advice i was finally able to do it the way suggested and ran after the first cutseen.

When you run to Horn Hill - have one of the team run up the stairs to the mouthpiece with Rurik - this will trigger the cutscene, whilst the rest of you stay at the bottom of the stairs.

Turn so your backs are to the stairs, look left - the slope down is where you're going to be heading down. As soon as the cut finishes - pin your heroes ahead and run after them. Rurik runs straight down the hill and doesn't follow the dirt track - he's heading for the set of stairs in the corner of the ruins and the Charr there.

Assuming the patrol patterns are the same in HM - the first group to move at the top of the hill (where you start off) usually run past you if you don't aggro - this gives you time to run ahead and kill the Charr at the bottom of the hill. It might be an idea to leave one of these Charr weak so Rurik can practice on him whilst you run ahead and kill the Charr leading to the end Boss.

if i remember correctly rurik is in the ally part of the party bar? if so just cast prot wep spells on him and keep them up...50% block keeps him alive...

if you can heal like a monk? then use MM,SH nuker ele and a war or monk inplace of war....worked for me with my rit...

ran MM,SH,war with me as healer rit kept rurik alive easily...just follow him closely; he only aggroes one grp I believe so just run in the nuke the bastards to hell easy!

yep defently did it the way where after the first cut seen you run the other way ie right , and avoid him all together.

I just did it with a Ritualist, 330hp vwk build, with 3 heroes.

But the key part here starts when Prince Rurik has used the Stormcaller:
You have enough time to go and kill Bonfaaz Burntfur before Rurik even starts moving. Just rush toward Bonfaaz and you should do fine (the charr inbetween you and Bonfaaz will attack your heroes, not you, if you're lucky).

But good to hear your cleared it now.
I had really hard time doing this with heroes only. I could have manged to do it the normal way, but got bored and wanted just to rush through the main gate
